About This Expedition

“Designed for travellers who want Southeast Asia to unfold slowly — through skyline, rail, jungle and island stillness.”

This journey brings together three of Southeast Asia's most compelling experiences into a single, seamless narrative. It begins in Singapore, where city gardens, Peranakan culture and exceptional dining define the first chapter. From there, the legendary Eastern & Oriental Express carries the journey north through Malaysia — past jungle, rice paddies and heritage towns — before arriving on Langkawi's shores.

The experience unfolds from city to train to island, each transition revealing a different texture of the region. Singapore's Mandarin Oriental provides a refined urban base before the romance of rail takes hold aboard the Belmond Eastern & Oriental Express. The journey concludes at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, where beachfront villas open onto the Andaman Sea and the pace of life slows completely.

What Is Included

Day by Day

The Full Itinerary

Every day has been sequenced to create a natural rhythm — arriving rested, departing enriched, and never once conscious of the machinery moving beneath you.

“The best journeys are felt in the body before they are understood by the mind.”

Days 1–3

Singapore — Mandarin Oriental

A Refined Urban Prelude

The journey begins in Singapore. A private transfer delivers you to the Mandarin Oriental, poised above Marina Bay with views across the water to the city skyline. Days are shaped around the city's most considered experiences: Gardens by the Bay arranged privately — Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and Floral Fantasy without the crowds. The Intan offers a rare private encounter with Peranakan culture, hosted in a beautifully restored heritage home. Afternoons may include shopping at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands or quiet exploration of the Civic District. The final Singapore evening is reserved for Ki-sho, one of the city's most acclaimed Japanese restaurants, for an intimate omakase.

Days 4–6

Malaysia — Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train

The Romance of Rail Through Malaysia

At Woodlands Station, the Eastern & Oriental Express awaits. Board in the early evening and let the journey begin. The train travels north through peninsular Malaysia — past dense jungle, paddy fields, stilted villages and the unhurried rhythm of the interior. Curated shore excursions are arranged at key stops: George Town in Penang offers a private Vespa tour through UNESCO heritage streets, stopping at street-art installations and hidden temples. Onboard, fine dining unfolds in the restaurant car while the jungle slides past the windows. This is travel as experience, not merely transport.

Days 6–11

Langkawi — Four Seasons Resort Langkawi

A Private Island Escape

A private transfer from Butterworth carries you to Langkawi, where the Four Seasons awaits on the island's most secluded stretch of coastline. Beachfront villas open directly onto the Andaman Sea, the rainforest pressing close behind. Days are left to find their own pace: sunset drinks at Rhu Bar, a beach bonfire as the sky darkens. A private mangrove kayak through the UNESCO Kilim Karst Geoforest Park brings you close to eagles, monitor lizards and mangrove channels few visitors reach. The Geo Spa offers the Tenang ritual — a signature Langkawi treatment using local botanicals. A private yacht charter navigates through the southern islands, and a helicopter flight over the emerald archipelago delivers the journey's most cinematic moment. The journey closes with a private beach dinner — set on the sand as the Andaman fades into night.
